Money Bag is a beautifully crafted sculptural object representative of Tom Otterness' popular iconography. Otterness has been known as one of America's most prolific public artists. His works can be found in parks, plazas, subway stations, libraries, courthouses and museums in New York City. Money and its social consequences is a recurrent motif in Otterness' work such as his expansive public artwork, Life Underground, 1999, commissioned by the Metropolitan Transit Authority for the 14th Street and 8th Avenue MTA station in New York. Other public artworks by Otterness can be seen across North America and Europe.
