Pat Oleszko

Fool Disclosure is Pat Oleszko's first institutional publication, produced on the occasion of the artist's survey exhibition at SculptureCenter.

 

  
The publication includes a biographical timeline by Oleszko in her own idiosyncratic language, spanning her practice from the 1960s to today and the many figures and events that have informed her work. It is illustrated with materials from the artist's personal archive — from family photographs to performance documentation, scripts, magazine covers, drawings, film stills, among others. It also includes newly commissioned essays by Columbia University professor and art historian Julia Bryan-Wilson; New York-based cultural worker, writer, and researcher Marie Catalano; Budapest-based curator, writer, and artist Gyula Muskovics; and American chef, food writer — and close friend of Oleszko — Ruth Reichl, along with a text matching her pun-filled language by her friend, the late artist Jim Pomeroy. The publication is designed by Tiffany Malakooti.
