First Saturdays in the Loft: Won't You Be My Neighbor?
Sat, Feb 6, 2016, 9–10am
Come together for this creative workshop to build the city of our dreams! As we engage and connect with each other and the physical space, we will brainstorm and build a neighborhood out of recycled materials and our collective imagination.
Led by Alex Tsocanos, a Brooklyn-based artist and educator exploring the intersection of play and labor and its potential for affecting change. Tsocanos is interested in how access to resources and information impact the possibility for growth of groups and individuals. Her work has been published in Journal...ment and Bad at Sports and is included in the Joseph Labadie Collection at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor). She has been an Artist-in-Residence at ACRE Projects (Steuben, WI), and Vermont Studio Center (Johnson, VT), and was awarded a 2014 Education Fellowship at The Wassaic Project and Artist Residency (Wassaic, NY).
Suitable for children ages 6-11. One adult must accompany up to three children throughout the program. Materials fee: $10 per child. Advanced registration is required via this form.
