A studio visit to the Old American Can Factory. Meet artists Lisa Sigal and Paul Ramirez Jonas in their studios.
Lisa Sigal's works blend painting, sculpture, and architecture. Using a mixture of found materials, sheet rock, cardboard, collaged elements, and paint, she creates installations that engage their environments through materials. Widely exhibited, her work was included in Make it Now, 2005, at SculptureCenter and the 2008 Whitney Biennial.
Paul Ramírez Jonas conceptual practice generates a range of objects, events, and performances. His installations and performances employ everyday objects, references to historical figures and events, and kinetic devices. His work invites reflection by situating viewers in a unique space within history in relationship to objects and ideas. His solo exhibition, ABRACADABRA - I Create as I Speak, at The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum is currently on view through November 30.
