In celebration of the groundbreaking of Hunters Point Community Library at Center Blvd/48th Ave (next to Gantry Plaza State Park), SculptureCenter presented an exhibition chronicling the design process of this new civic building and public park. An online exhibition can also be viewed at stevenholl.com/Online-Exhibition.

The exhibition at SculptureCenter featured models of the building's final design as well as studies and a series of Holl's signature watercolors, produced as part of his design process for every project.

Located on a prominent site along the East River against the backdrop of recently built skyscraper condominiums, the design for the 22,000 square foot Queens Library at Hunters Point—the first public library to be built in the borough in twenty years—will stand as a public building and public park and will bring community devoted space to the increasingly privatized Long Island City waterfront.
