Hanna Sandin's sculptural works often reference syntactical structures through the form of the mobile. Formally evoking children's toys designed to facilitate cognitive development, they suggest a language stripped of its expected meaning and reduced to abstracted material components, as everyday objects are flattened and reordered into a fragmented visual grammar.
Sandin has exhibited work at MoMA PS1, New York; SculptureCenter, New York; and Socrates Sculpture Park, New York, among other venues.
Acquiring this or other artworks from SculptureCenter helps to support our exhibitions and programs to provide artists space to incubate ideas, experiment with materials, and present works that might have otherwise never been realized.
